We will have a new batch of black walnut paintboxes ready in the beginning of December.
This is a smaller and slimmer pocket size version which
will fit the shallow pans that many handmade paints come in.

This piece of black walnut was rather colorful due to two factors:
1. Sapwood (light color) +heartwood (dark color) mix
2. Staining (bluish/gray stripes) from natural mineral deposits in the soil.
Also, some pieces are adorned with nature marks such as remnants of bore holes (worm channels: no worms, just a left over beauty mark).
Each box in this batch will be listed individually because
of the diversity of color, grain pattern, and nature marks.

As last time, the boxes include a handmade brass mixing tray.

Fits 9 of the full (1" square) flat pans or 18 half flat pans.
